Authorities in the western city of Trier said the suspect had told the officers that he had acted “in rage” after a 20-year-old cashier on a derivative pump asked him to put on the pandemic mask.
“He added further after the interrogation that he had rejected measures against corruption,” said police, the Guardian reports, sent Periscopi.
According to the state prosecutor, the man in question said he felt “pushed to the wall” and that he kept the victim “responsible for the situation in general”.
After the cashier twice announced to the 49-year-old that the mask was mandatory within the pump, he had left after a verbal exchange.
But he was back two hours later with his mask set with a gun.
After killing him, he had later fled but had handed himself over to the police station since morning. /Periscope
