The candidate of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) for the mayor of Prizren, Anton Kuni, is praising that Vetevendosje is finding the pretext for delaying elections, because it will turn into a negative result.
The idea of postponing local elections came after a statement by Chief Parliamentary Glauk Konjufca, who said that with this burdened situation of pandemic it would be about delaying the elections.
But according to Quinn, although Prizren has had to be used as a model for government for four years, no progress has been made.
“Now is known to the mood of citizens their experiences with this government, but polls have also shown that Vetevendosje did not arrive in Prizren. Prizren has had to be used as a model as it could be governmented. They've done nothing for four years. That's why this will turn into a negative result for Vetevendosje. I am convinced that this is not the convenient moment for Vetevendosje to now hold the elections, and of course they find the pretext to postpone it for next year”, he said.
The former defence minister said the LDK has proposed that the election campaign be only 10 days in order to preserve citizens' health.
We, like LDK, aim at preserving the health of citizens from facing various dangers. Let the campaign be 10 days away from all classical forms that have previously practiced meetings, gatherings, taking precautions for protection from Covid. I am more than convinced that with a good organization we can hold elections”, Quinn added to EO.
He estimates the VV in Prizren has done nothing but accommodate militants in public positions. Call him he even irony by saying that this time has stopped.
“Now is a long list of all the problems we would have to clear. For four years during this government in Prizren, time has stopped. It can't be pursued by someone who steals time, but I am more than convinced that such government will be morally punished by the citizen vote. In addition to accessing certain personalities who for different interests without any expertise have seized local power”.
Local elections will be held on October 17th, while areas are scheduled to begin on September 15th.
