Because Qalaj in an interview for Online Economy says that blocking the roads following the decision of reciprocity on license plates with Serbia can be considered a calm situation.
Meanwhile, Serbian List deputies and municipal structures are leading this protest in co-ordination with Belgrade, says.
There have been several days since Special Forces are found in the northern part of Kosovo, where, at the moment, the situation is reported to be calm, even though I see very tense with the fact that we have people on the street, we have protesters and roadblocks, and we can't say that the situation is calm, as we have an impasse on freedom of movement. You have seen that there are municipal structures, members of the Serbian List, who are in some way maintaining a communication with the police and Kosovo institutions, while on the other hand they are leading protesters by guiding how to act, always in co-ordination they have with Belgrade”, Qalaj said.
While speaking of the Government's decision to reciprocity with Serbia, Qalaj says his party considers it a right move. Meanwhile, police members expect instruction from institutions to free that part.
Because we have a government decision here, which is a fair act and we as the PDK have supported, since any subject that is in national interest, we will always support. Since the decision was made by the Government, the police expect instructions from the Government of Kosovo, and for the police it is not a problem because they have capacities and, in a professional way, they are prepared, but I think that this decision is also being discussed by our international partners, and I believe that the situation will remain that way, until we have a clarification from the Government of Kosovo as operating away from”,
As for the willingness of citizens to bring food to the members of the police, Qalaj says they cannot accept this because it has to do with security issues.
He says their food is provided by the contracted operator, EO reports.
Depending on the conditions, the Special Unit can say there are several different packages that they eat, in normal conditions they have hot food that is prepared in Vrella Camp, but when conditions are engaged in the field, they dictate and they use these packages that they have contracted with an economic operator, and I believe we've seen only one ration that's gone that day. I believe the police thank the citizens, although I am not part of it, but it is not good for anyone to send food, but Kosovo Police have their own budget and the police should just take the food they have contracted from the operator, and they cannot get it from citizens because of security”, Qalaj said.
So far, Serbia has not allowed Kosovo license plates to enter Serbia, but has set up temporary license plates.
Kosovo is doing the same, where authorities in Kosovo are placing on cars with license plates in Serbia's cities -- temporary registrations for circulation in Kosovo.
