Orban: Serbia, key state for European Union

Hungary's prime minister, Viktor Orban, has said that the European Union states need more Serbia's accession to the union than Serbia needs those states.

He thus declared at the Black Strategic Forum when asked how to avoid devastating political approaches when a state is expected to be admitted to the EU.

The key “state is Serbia, without accepting Serbia as a new European Union state. There is no reason to talk about any security or any general European identity”.

Serbia is the key state, and the truth is that the states of the European Union need Serbia's accession more than Serbia needs them and membership. These are geopolitical strategies issues, we need Serbia because of geopolitical”, Orban has said.
