Journalist Parim Oluri has spoken of the Mitrovica chairmanship race. Says there Bedri Hamza candidate of PDK's and current president Agim Bahtiri, who is demanding the third mandate, are completely different from each other.
“Bahtiri talks about things that he doesn't talk about Hamza, talks about meeting the Public Security Council after the ROSU intervention in Jarinje and the South Mitrovica Security Council has nothing to do with Jarinje. They're very different from each other. I don't know how it could have been a debate between these two. They're far apart from each other”, Oluri says.
The important thing in public view is the fact that one is described as an expert in the economy, while the other is most described as illiterate and not as a very successful businessman by people who know him closely. My question for Hamza is more direct: If you lost the race from a profile of a person described by his immediate circle as illiterate, would you leave politics?”, Oluri asked the PDK candidate.
Hamza responded by expressing optimism in victory.
It's a direct question, but I'll be honest and very direct. I have entered the race with a rational, thinking decision, I am honoured to be a candidate for Mitrovica chairman, honoured by all those who have created expectations that I would be the candidate for Mitrovica chairman. Every start has an end, politics has an end. I've been waiting for this question, but the answer is this: I submit to the will of the sovereign who in this case is the vote of the citizen of Mitrovica. I believe in victory, the odds are that I get won. The spirit is good. Others are called in numbers, if they want to have polls, let them publish. I am convinced of victory. If I don't win then I'll normally sit down and reflect calmly and see what my rational decision will be”, Hamza explained.
