MPB ready with license plates in case Government makes a decision on reciprocity with Serbia

Even though the government has warned that I will make a decision to establish reciprocity with license plates with Serbia, so far by the executive have not been declared on the issue.

From the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Kosovo, for Front Online, have declared they are prepared in case the Government of Kosovo sets reciprocity with Serbia.

“Applying reciprocity with Serbia, the Provatory license plate has enough”, the MPB response said.

After Kosovo's independence, authorities in Pristina have changed vehicle license plates by replacing those of UNMIK (KS) in the Republic of Kosovo (RKS).

But, after an agreement between the two states -- Serbia and Kosovo -- for free movement, the use of old license plates was also possible for a certain period of time.

But according to the new MPB decision, the owners of Kosovo vehicles are obliged to convert KS plates to those RKS.

“All owners of the tools owned by KS license plates on the basis of continuing vehicle registration are obliged to replace KS plates with RKS plates, according to procedures for continuing vehicle registration, and based on a decision No.012/20 on the 10,01.2020 for the set of tariffs”, the statement said.

The MPB, in this regard, has said there are 220 active vehicles with KS license plates.

“From the system data for car registration are 220 active vehicles with KS”, the MPB response reported.
