Montenegro, why it recognised Kosovo's independence, sometimes continues to deny this reality. This is witnessed by a recently published document, where the Minister of the Digital Society and the Media, Tamara Szzenentic, had extended an invitation to Kosovo Economy Minister Artane Rizvanolli, for participation in the digital summit of the Western Balkans that will be held from 11 October to 13 October in Montenegro.
At the invitation, the Montenegrin minister is seen as referring to Kosovo with a backlog.
And for that, Periscopi has requested an answer from the economy ministry to ask if Minister Rizvanolli will accept this invitation under these circumstances.
According to the ministry, Rizvanolli has not yet responded to the organisers whether he will participate in that summit.
Meanwhile, the Ecomony Ministry says the same banner has been established in the past.
The accepted invitation refers to the Pristina Republic of Kosovo, as in past practices, during the three preliminary editions of this summit, where ministers and other representatives of the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo have participated. This is done in line with the Council's statute for Regional Co-operation (RCC), said by ME.
Whatever the case, this has caused little reaction in this country.
It is the Montenegrin medium Antena M himself who has made public the invitation document, and who has called it diplomatic scandal.
Montenegro does not mark Kosovo as ensigned in official documents, because this reference is done under particular circumstances if Serbia insists on it during the official meetings of leaders of several states where Kosovo's representative also participates.
This came for Kosovo in 2012, after a dialogue agreement with Serbia in Brussels, to enable Kosovo's participation and representation in regional conferences and initiatives, but also the wider international level.
It implies the position of the parties against Kosovo's status, respectively, Serbia's position in line with Resolution 12 44 and Kosovo's position based on the opinion of the International Court of Justice for the Declaration of Independence of Kosovo. / P ERISCOPI/
