On June 11, 2011, Stephen McDaniel sneaked into Lauren Giddding's apartment and killed her, crushing her body before throwing her into the basket, broadcast Periscope.
A few days later, Lauren was reported missing from her friends and family, with Stephen, her neighbor, who was interviewed by the media, as she allegedly helped investigate her whereabouts.
During the interview, Stephen spoke of Lauren, saying she was a good person and that they had both gone to the same university, Mercer College in Djordje.
At one point, he even suggested that Lauren may have been kidnapped as she was running, since when he and one of her friends had searched the apartment, nothing seemed to be missing.
However, things took another turn when he lost control immediately after the reporter asked him about a suspected body that police found in a parking lot behind the law school.

He eventually returns tearful, showing how seldom he saw Lauren as he was watching the hours he was ʹonline.
According to reports, after the police labeled Stephen as a person of interest, his apartment was searched.
During the search, the police found the sawpack he used to break Lauren's body until he had a key to get into all the rooms in the building.
The police also found Lauren's underwear and some writings Stephen had written about the torture he had inflicted on women.
