Kosovo's Minister of Internal Affairs, Jhelal Svecla, said today that the decision on license plates is by no means against Serbian citizens.

A statement to the N1 said Kosovo police are located near border points exclusively for their protection.

“As the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Government of Kosovo guarantees that yesterday's decision is neither discrimination nor provocation to anyone. Serbian citizens should not be intimidated, since our officers are duty and contribute to ensuring order and security. The measures taken are not against them or against anyone else. Police do not deal with the nationality of travellers, but it protects all citizens, without any distinction of”, Svecla said.

According to him, in this situation Kosovo and Serbia are either right or wrong.

“So either we will keep these types of registration boards or both sides off using temporary signs and using regular registration boards”, Minister Svechla said.
