EC President Ursula von der Leyeen at the joint conference with Prime Minister Rama said she hopes Albania will sit on the table with the EU before the end of the year to launch the process of membership negotiations.
Meanwhile Prime Minister Rama said they now have no preparation for the wedding, but only love statements because the wedding is in the hands of the crustaceans.
Von der Leenen: We've been working hard at opening this first intergovernmental conference and I want to reinstate the fact that you've done your homework and we'll do everything we can to overcome obstacles. I really hope we can start with the first intergovernmental conference before the end of this year. That's our goal.
Rama: The president reiterated that before the end of the year, the first intergovernmental conference will be held for Albania to sit at the table with the EU and start membership negotiations. As far as I'm concerned, I've said it before and I repeat it, I don't bet on any date anymore, for no time, and I wait with full silence like when it happens and it doesn't happen. We've prepared several times for the wedding and the crust has not appeared.
Now we don't prepare for weddings, we make the declarations of love but that when the wedding takes place, they hold the crustaceans. It's only up to us to do our job, and that's not what Brussels, Paris, or United Europe imposes on us, but the future of our children. It is the blessing of our children who are born and raised in the midst of this continent, and a wall of soʹna separates from the best space mankind has organized for the peace and security that is the EU.
Imagine if we were on another continent or desert, that's our destiny and our blessing, we're going to take full advantage of knowledge, experience of the EU through the process that it's irreplaceable to grow itself, to modernise, to the rule of law and that we need for ourselves, for our children. We don't need our partners because they have these standards.
Then, whether or not, conferences and chapters are opened -- this is the EU issue, not the Commission's, but one member of the European family, who rises with resentment for another and takes another hostage. We have so many other things to do that we should not lose focus, patience, or tranquillity, but we must move on.
