The Brazilian health regulator recommended that the entire presidential delegation that participated in the UN General Assembly be isolated and subject to more tests.
Brazilian Health Minister Marcelo Queiroga came up positive in the Corleone test several hours after accompanying the president in his speech at the annual summit Tuesday. Brazilian authorities said all other members of the delegation have turned negative in testing.
Bolsonaro, who does not believe in the outcome of vaccines to fight pandemic, has boasted that he has not been vaccinated and respected by the United Nations rules, under which meeting participants should be vaccinated, Reuters writes.
The positive minister attended the Brazilian president's meeting with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson. The minister was wearing a mask, but the Brazilian president and British prime minister had no masks.
