A strange case of a woman who has said that she hasn't slept for 40 years has shocked doctors.

Li Jeanying from the Chinese province of Henan, has confirmed that she was only five years old when she last slept, writes the Daily Star, broadcasts Klankosova.tv.

She didn't even sleep when she took sleeping pills, and the weird phenomenon now made her a famous local character.

Liu Suoquin, Lee's husband, has told local media that her claims are true. He said that since the couple got married she would be able to finish her housework under the cover of darkness.

Doctors were initially unable to diagnose Lee's condition when she first sought medical help, reports Bastille Post. But now a trip to a specialised sleeping centre in Beijing has shed light on mysterious causes.
