At this meeting, the decision was discussed yesterday about the temporary license device for vehicles bearing Serbia's license plates and entering the territory of the Republic of Kosovo.
Prime Minister Kurti informed the ambassadors that no border crossings yesterday and today there have been no incidents. He said yesterday's decision is neither provocation nor discrimination against anyone, and that Kosovo police have been and it is professional, correct and efficient.
The law has been implemented, equal treatment has been secured, the prime minister said, stressing that special units are there only to protect border police and border crossings. Their current presence is in place because dozens of protesters have blocked the roads leading to border points 1 and 31 in their vicinity. Police have talked to protesters and have not violated them, Prime Minister Kurti said, adding that freedom of movement is right and value that does not violate.
At this reciprocity of temporary license plates for cars or Kosovo and Serbia are both right, or both wrong. So, either we will keep that kind of license plates of both states, or let's remove them both Kosovo and Serbia, Prime Minister Kurti stressed.
He also announced to the ambassadors about phone conversations he had with the European Commission Vice President and EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security last night, Mr. Josep Borrell.
Minister Svechla said our officers are at the level of office and are contributing to maintaining order and security. Serbian citizens do not have to feel afraid, he added. The measures taken are not against them, nor against anyone else. Police don't deal with the nationality of travellers. It protects and respects all citizens indiscriminately, the minister said.
Ambassadors and Prime Minister Kurti agreed that peace and peace should be maintained, stability and security, and that dialogue must continue and the situation must be de-scalmed./Periscopi/
