Economy Minister Artane Rizvanolli has announced that the Kosovo government will not proceed further with the project for the key to Kosovo in the existing North Macedonia gas pipeline, a project supported by the US MCC.
Rizvallon has said they need more information about the gas pipeline project to know if it is an adequate project for Kosovo's energy transition.
The LDK has reacted by saying an American geostrategic project has been rejected.
“Today, the Government of Kosovo rejected the most geostrategic project in the Balkans, that of the gasmen, which would provide our country with gas and gas supplies and the necessary energy transition”, is in response.
Besides that, in in in inexplicable political paranoism, it named the same as Russian “gaz <x1) Russian <x1x2>, with this decision, Kosovo rejected and 200 million dollars, which President Biden had long confirmed as the grant of funding thanks to the Republic of Kosovo and the project in question”, is said back in the communique.
The LDK has called this decision a strategic mistake and unintelligible action for Albanian interests in the region.
“A false strategic step. An unintelligible move for Albanian interests in the region. A two hundred million financial loss in a land without development. Senseless, harmful, unacceptable. Kosovo's dedication to US strategic projects should not be reluctant. Our strategic walk with the United States should be shared in politics, economy, energy security”, said at the end of the communique.
