The main day of the Strategic Forum, held each year for 16 years, was held in Bled, Slovenia, on Wednesday.
Kosovo in the FSB represented Prime Minister Albin Kurti.
“Crahed with the seven months of last year, this year's exports from Kosovo have increased 63%, the flow of 30% businesses, while government revenues increased 28% without changing fiscal policies. We predict economic growth by 2021 of 7.9%. Kosovo is a pro-Western country and we never waver for the European Union and NATO. We want to become members there as soon as possible. We will work hard on this” Kurti said in the “panel The future of Europe-enlargement”.
The main topic of the Strategic Forum in Bled debates was Afghanistan and the possibility of Europe facing a wave of refugees from that country.
Kosovo, according to the prime minister, is doing its job in this situation.
We have admitted 2,000 Afghan refugees to Kosovo. We're a poor country but when it comes to humanitarian issues we shouldn't ask why but just say how. Plus Kosovo's partnership with the United States is very important and sustainable “.
Slovenia, which holds the European Union presidency except Bled on 6 October, is expected to host the next major meeting between EU and Western Balkan leaders on a single theme of how to come to the membership of these six countries in this region in Union.
