Kurti for reciprocity with license plates: I am willing to remove this measure if Serbia vows too

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has said he is willing to lift the reciprocity measure for the license plates if Serbia also vows to do so against Kosovo. So he declared at a media conference after the end of the Kosovo Government meeting. Prime Minister Kurti further [...]
Prime Minister Kurti further said he is happy that this move has begun to be implemented in Kosovo by 20 September this year.
The “in Kosovo from September 20th has begun to implement the new decision on temporary license equipment for Serbia's vehicles entering Kosovo from all border points. The decision is also being implemented in terms of eliminating all illegal plates that have circulated in Kosovo since the post-war. I'm glad this problem of decades is taking the deserved epilogue. I am also happy to see the positive response of our citizens, local Serbs of all Kosovo municipalities to be equipped with temporary license plates, while the Auto-registering Centres are working with full capacity”, he has said.
A call to Kurti also had for mayors in the north to pull trucks with which local Serb citizens are blocking roads towards the border point in Jarinje and Brnjak.
I'm reported that the obstacles leading to the border roads are being done with several trucks that are owned by municipal institutions, and that certainly constitutes violations and misuse of public property. I call on the mayors of municipalities in the north to pull the vehicles of municipal institutions off the road and also invite the organised group of Serbian citizens to leave the two regional roads because they have thus blocked their” route, he said.
Seting legitimacy according to Kurti is an interest for all and that this decision has not been against Serbian citizens, but a decision towards equality and implementation of agreements that have been reached between Kosovo and Serbia.
putting legitimacy in the country is an interest to everyone, so I'm convinced that over time this is what everyone is getting. It is neither a decision nor a measure of action against someone or to discriminate against someone. Rather, they are all for equal treatment. I have said the decision on temporary plates does not address Kosovo Serb citizens and that they have the full right to equip themselves with permanent Kosovo license plates”, he said.
Kurti was also declared for the meeting with the QUINT ambassadors and the EU chief in Kosovo. He said he is willing to step down from implementing this move in case Serbia did that to Kosovo.
This measure is equal to what the state of Serbia applies to Kosovo for two decades. I have also made it known at the meeting that I had yesterday with the QUINT ambassadors and with the chief of the EU mission, that Kosovo's decision is in the framework of law enforcement and I am willing to at any time remove this measure, if we have such a pledge from the part of Serbia”, Kurti said.
