The opposition leader has said that Prime Minister Kurti's failure to respond to the letter he sent a week ago indicating the need to unify the political spectrum for fighting pandemic, indicates that the prime minister is fleeing from responsibility, from citizens and patients.
Krasniqi has written on his Facebook page that since the day he sent the letter to the prime minister, the balance has been tragic for 207 families who lost loved ones, while a total number of 9,914 new cases with David-19, out of the current total number of 24.484 cases active at the country level.
But this defection by responsibility is costing the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, for which we cannot remain indifferent. A responsible prime minister would have to put aside the poor electoral mood he faces, and focus on the governmental responsibilities, because citizens need today more than ever to rely on their institutions”, Krasniqi said.
PDK Chairman Memli Krasniqi's full statement:
It's been a week since I sent a letter to Prime Minister Albin Kurti to raise concerns as opposition about the situation created with the pandemic in our country. Since that day, the balance has been tragic for 207 families who have lost loved ones, while 9,914 new cases with Covid-19 have been recorded, out of the current total number of 24.484 cases active at the country level.
I have believed that, although unable to manage this crisis, he is really concerned about the situation burdened with pandemic, considering how a common front because we do not have and we should have political battles for the pandemic we can find solutions to meet many emergency needs, including budget Law changes, where these needs would be reflected.
However, Prime Minister Kurti did not become alive. No paper, no field. Not in Government, not near citizens, not near patients. We know that we are not attractive to him, because ideological and seminaric postulates cannot sell to the PDK. However, we have believed that there is enough political integrity and responsibility to make it a fundamental priority to deal with the situation with pandemic.
But this defection by responsibility is costing citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, for which we cannot remain indifferent. A responsible prime minister would have to put aside the poor electoral mood he faces, focus on governmental responsibilities, because citizens need to rely on their institutions today more than ever.
I believe that we must become together beyond power, in the face of this danger that you are taking dozens of lives every day. Now and immediately
