USKKUK Director Valbon Krasniqi has said general hospitals and KKUK are packed with patients.
He has, however, said that in the last two or three days, there has been a tendency to reduce the number of those seeking hospital treatment.
“SHSKUK has already faced a large number of patients as a result of the large number of new cases infected. Four or five days ago we had the largest number of patients to receive hospital treatment, about 1300, since the beginning of the pandemic in March last year. In recent days, however, there is a slight tendency, a decline in the number of cases that are requiring hospitalization, and today in seven general hospitals, and the QKUK is treating about 1,200 patients affected by COVID-19”.
Krasniqi, at a news conference, has announced that there have never been a greater number of hospitalised patients in oxygen therapy.
We worry about the number of deaths, but of 1209 patients currently being treated in hospitals over 1,000 of them are in oxygen therapy and this is about aggressive disease. We never had so many cases that needed oxygen therapy. We're in the fourth week since the beginning of the increase in cases, and from the scientific aspect of respiratory infections is marked by the greater possibility of showing lung complications, and we're seeing this as the SHSKUK”.
