That the citizens of Kosovo should also take additional doses against the Coronavirus and the professor [...] claim it.
That the citizens of Kosovo should also take additional doses against coronarys and even the professor at the Faculty of Medicine, Sali Ahmeti and Hannah Xhemaili, a specialist in researching global health policies.
The vaccine's strengthening dose has also been recommended by the Kosovo National Public Health Institute.
The decision to apply the third dosage will be made in due time and in line with recommendations by international creditable health-field organisations, predictions about the epidemiological situation and the performance of vaccine against COVID-19 in Kosovo”, says in response to the Health Ministry sent Radio Free Europe.
The European Bars Agency (EMA) said on September 23rd that early in October it would decide whether to approve the extension of the Pfizer vaccine. BioNTech vs. COVIDD-19 for all people over 16.
Although the European regulator has not yet approved the third dose of vaccine, some European Union countries are offering their citizens such an opportunity. Ahmeti: Third dose must be applied for certain categories
This dose of vaccine should apply to Kosovo as well, as in many countries in Europe and the world, says infection, Sali Ahmeti.
We need to convey the trends of European countries, inaccuration, as we are dealing with common threats and the third dosage should come to us as well, but I personally think the priority should be to take the second dose. While, it would also be preferred to find opportunities for getting the third dose”, says infected Ahmeti.
Hannah Xhemali, a specialist in researching global health policies, points out that giving the third dose of vaccine in Kosovo is necessary, but when the vaccine against the Coronavirus is completed even in poor countries that have not received the first dose. However, it says that when the practices of countries in the region are taken into account, Kosovo should also discuss the issue.
When we see the region, Kosovo has begun the vaccine process later than others. The vaccine started in March with low doses, meanwhile so far, has vaccinated over 500,000 people with the second dose. So we have to wait six to nine months to get the third dose. In this regard we are not late, but it is not too early to discuss the possibility of giving the reinforcement dose”, Xhemaili says.
States that have begun giving the third dose of vaccine have earlier begun the vaccine campaign, and third dose is managing certain categories of society, such as elderly, chronically ill people, those in care centres for elderly people, health workers and a category of children with compromised immunity.
Infectian Ahmeti says that if competent authorities approve of giving the third dosage, the priority should be people with weak immune systems.
“In this process, priority must be elderly people with chronic diseases and young people with poor immunity. Of course, I think health workers should be a priority as well because they're a endangered category. The strengthening dose should be given 6-9 months after taking the second dose”, he points out.
In Kosovo from March, when the communication process has begun, close to 1.3 million doses have been administered so far, more than 53,000 citizens have been vaccinated with both doses against Coronavirus.
