KEDS is conducting one of the most important investments in the network, modernisation and digitalisation of the seven substations it has under management. Through this investment, over 100,000 consumers will have greater security in power supply, higher and more stable quality services, as well as increased power capacities.
The most contemporary equipment is being installed in these substations, equipment of the latest word of technology is being installed. Currently these investments are being realised in substations involving: Pristina, Ferizajin, Obilic, Malisheva, Prizren, Shken and Gjilan. After their completion, KEDS will continue modernising other substations, until their full finalisation.
KED Operations System Director Bujar Jupay stressed that millions of investments will enable the delivery of quality services, which will benefit thousands of citizens.
“Taking into account that KED has inherited an old power grid, immediate investment actions in substations for modernisation and digitisation of the network for the only reason, so that consumers can obtain more efficient and quality electricity services. Such investments are taking place in several substations, which take million figures, of which direct beneficiaries are hundreds of thousands of consumers”, Jupaj said.
Investments in substation have already been realised, where KEDS has digitised all through the SCADA system, enabling long distance management and great benefits for all ECDS consumers. Parales with it, the company has also launched the Kosovannet programme for monitoring and managing the entire infrastructure of the network and labor force through which every movement on the power grid is seen in real time.
Such investments are the fulfillment of the KED mission, which aims to illuminate Kosovo with the most modern infrastructure, with more contemporary and efficient technologies.
