The NC for Periscope has stated that the article in question was completely untrue.

“International Red Cross Committee [ The ICRC] is aware of the article published in the Albanian Post on September 27, 2021, containing incorrect information attributed to an anonymous source of the Red Cross concerning the remains of Professor Uksin Hoti,” KPSI response, reports Periscope.

It points out that the reporting in question is completely false and unfounded in information received by the NPN.

Below, you have the full answer from the NP N given our editorials in Albanian:

The International Committee of the Red Cross (KNKK) is aware of an article published by the “Albanian Post” on September 27, 2021, which contains incorrect information attributed to an unnamed source of the International Red Cross Committee regarding the remains of Professor Ukshin Hoti.

The KNKK strongly wants to stress that this report is completely incorrect and is not based on any information received by KNNK.

Moreover, the KNKK solidifies with the family of Professor Hoti, on whom the article has had a negative emotional impact. Inaccurate reporting only exacerbates the worry of missing people's families.

The KNKK has been working on behalf of families of missing persons in Kosovo for more than 20 years, but the responsibility to inform families about identifying their loved ones belongs to relevant government authorities who deal exclusively with the issue of missing persons. As a rule, ID names are not shared with the media. It's a family decision to do this if they want to.

For the sake of families of missing persons, who have lived in pain and anguish for so long, The KNKK wants to seize this opportunity to commend all journalists and media that cover this issue with sensitivity and accuracy, and avoid adding to the heavy burden that families of missing persons have been carrying on their shoulders for so long. Inaccurate reporting, even when not deliberate, undermines the efforts of all people with good will to shed light on the fate and whereabouts of missing persons.

All that is good,
