Drugs have an estimated three tonnes and a value of over 2 billion euros.
Two Indians were arrested, while drugs were found in two containers at the port of the western region, Gujarat, writes The Guardian.
One container carried about two thousand pounds [2,000,000 kg] of heroin, and some 1,000 pounds [1,000 kg] in the other.
The drug dating is from Afghanistan, but the shipment was shipped from a port in Iran.
Indian organs said it is suspected that, in drug transport, other than Indians, several Afghan citizens have been involved, though no other person has been arrested so far.
heroin production has increased many years in Afghanistan, affecting the financing of the Taliban, who returned to power last month.
The efforts of the United States and the international community to control heroin trading have been largely unsuccessful.
