An inflow of patients with COVID-19, mostly unexplored, is causing pressure on health care workers in an effort to make room for more people where there is no one, the ATS reports.
In at least five countries, beds in intensive hospital care units are almost fully occupied.
According to data from the Department of Human Health and Services, Alabama, Georgia, Texas, Florida, and Arkansas have less than 10 percent of their beds available in intensive care.
