Government urged co-ordination with the US for dialogue, criticised for unserious access

Former Health Minister Ferid Agani has said in an interview for Online Economics that the points that have been specified in Washington's agreement should be elaborized in the territory and more specifically from the Kosovo side and put on the table, to serve as the basis for further dialogue.

The prime minister's “approach, which goes towards confronting Serbia in its past and somehow gives answers to its past before it enters on issues for the present and future in relations between the two states is a right issue. I think it's a good case right now. But what needs to happen and what is necessary is that we have accelerated activities in terms of dialogue and the need for much better co-ordination of political action in this direction with the US”.

The entire policy of Kosovo in the past four decades has been co-ordinated with the US, and there is now no reason why we don't have an interaction more openly even on the level of dialogue and act on co-ordination coming from Washington. The points which have been specified in Washington's agreement should be elaborised on the table and more specifically from the Kosovo side to co-ordinate with the US and they will be put on the table and serve as the basis for further dialogue”, Agani said.

According to him, whether there will be changes in the country's foreign policy dialogue can intensify in the first part of next year and have something concrete.

“With the current dynamic cannot be expected in the nearest period of time. But if we have changes in the country's foreign policy and have intensification of activities in this direction I think this dialogue can intensify in the first part of next year and it's possible that it's the end of the year that comes to have something concrete”, he added.

On the other hand, the spokesman The PDK, Faton Abdua God, has estimated that dialogue should not be overlooked, but in co-ordination with the administration of US President Joe Biden, you should go to Brussels with all potential.

According to Abdullah, the government is unable to enter into dialogue with Serbia, so it is manifesting major hesitations.

And we think of it as well as before that dialogue should develop, we should not avoid dialogue, we should not overlook this process, if it is also a certain obligation but we consider that when we enter into dialogue, we should enter with all the potential that we have and above all when trying to do something in this process for the better of Kosovo, we, of course, as institutions, as a whole need to be constantly co-ordinated with the Benden” administration.

This now and several months since we have this government cannot be said to be happening, with nothing this Government has convinced us that it is in the same wave, in continued co-ordination with the Biden administration and we have a support we had earlier to face Serbia in dialogue, to benefit Kosovo. This is not happening to anything we are not seeing as the PDK is dealing with a Government that is reacting in line with new circumstances created to co-operate with the Biden Administration. This seems to make it possible for the Government not to be able enough to get into dialogue with Serbia and have major hesitations”.

Therefore, we do not expect much that will happen in relation to this Government with dialogue. While we have clear attitudes, with all the experience we have from the past, where we have been very successful in dialogue with Serbia, we consider that now we should not move or discuss the border issue and at the same time we should not accept any third option in the context of negotiations, but go from what we benefit as much as possible to the last one that should be the process and not extend and go bold on that path to ensure recognition of Kosovo”, he has said.

While Emir Abrashi from Democracy Plus, has said this government has not shown seriousness in the dialogue process.

Abrashi considers the results of the talks to be normalising relations between Kosovo and Serbia, mutual recognition and on the other hand would imply a comprehensive and legally binding agreement for both sides.

“So far Kosovo has not been very serious in the process of dialogue with Serbia, I speak since taking over the Kurti 2 government. In this respect we have had several meetings that were held in Brookekel, yet none of those meetings so far have come to a concrete point. There were more speculations, there were nationalist tones that were used, yet nothing that would push the dialogue process forward.

In this process we are now 10 years into the 11th year and it is extremely important that Kosovo be a serious party and take advantage of the moment that has been created on the coming of the Biden Administration to the White House. President Beden is a person who knows reality in Kosovo, has been personally involved in resolving the conflicts in Yugoslavia and who could also pressure the European union for which it is even more important over Serbia to push ahead a final solution to the dialogue process that would mean normalising relations between Kosovo and Serbia, mutual recognition between the two countries and on the other side would imply a comprehensive and legally binding agreement on both sides”, he has indicated.

According to Abrashi priority priority, Kosovo should reveal the issue of the unknown in Brussels.

The government must start drafting a national strategy for dialogue that would have to be drafted in co-operation with opposition and civil society, and which would serve as our negotiating team's guide in terms of Kosovo's priorities, red lines and on the other hand would define the topics that we would discuss. This strategy, which would have to be drafted in co-operation with opposition and civil society, normally implies that there would be legitimacy within the country but would also strengthen Kosovo's negotiating position abroad. In fact, priority priority priority must be whitewashing the property's bad luck”, it's over for EO.
