The situation in the gastronomial sector is not good at all, since fines of up to 2 thousand euros have been imposed in recent days as a result of new measures requiring them to work only in open spaces.

However, the deputy chairman of the Kosovo Gastronomous Association, Shpat Hashan, has said decisions by the government have turned out differently from what they have discussed at the meeting held with the health ministry, Arben Vitita.

According to him, they have also considered the possibility of protests or the closure of businesses because of bankruptcy.

There's no hope, at the moment we don't have hope with the latter what happened, believe we're on the verge of bankruptcy or we're in a situation that's going to have to or protest massively or close all of my business and then maybe I'll see that we're also a taxpayer factor and in other things”

Hashani says the sentences are already high, as implementation of the anti-duhan Law is being monitored.

We as associations have always agreed with the measures, especially now with the number of cases, and we've also been for closures even though we haven't been promised state aid, and they've already only allowed us in the terraces in the capacity of 70%, and that's not allowing us to work. Yesterday, they had only one action closing many businesses by the 13th of September, and most of them were fined, knowing that a fine of 2 thousand euros is too high”.

The state has allowed you to work, but they're dealing with a smoking law that has not been applicable anywhere with the reasoning that the tars have no conditions and now they're condemning us, that's double-sided and they're making differences in businesses, making selection, and that's completely wrong of the” approach.

He says the confrontation with the whole situation and with the measures is difficult for businesses, as paying high-cost fines is not easy, reports EO.

It's very difficult to deal with these measures, knowing that we've always been in irregular conditions, and we as businesses have very difficult paying these coming fines and making it nothing of a 500, or 2 thousand euros sentence that are awesome values and everything is against us. This has much to do with their approach to us where we're trying to survive”.

The number of clientele has already dropped, all because of fear of respecting the masses.

The “people who entered the locals have proposed that they be asked to have their vaccination book, or even their test, but this idea was rejected by the minister. So as an association we've done our best and now the idea of why we've been vaccinated and why we have these consequences from their mismanagement. The customer's number has also fallen because even fear and distance and everything is against us”.

With new measures taken by the Government, which are in effect until 13 September, the gastronomy sector can work only until 9:30 and only in open environments and using only 50% of space.
