Drowners complain about the price of grapes: Low, don't even cover expenses

The price of 26 cents per kilogram of grapes from the vinedressers of Rahovec is considered extremely low and does not cover the cost of their work costs in vineyards. Rahovecians who mainly grow grapes and wine grapes are looking for the processing companies [...]
Rahovecians, mainly involved in the cultivating of wine - table grapes and grapes, are looking for grape - processing companies to increase prices per kilogram to keep up with this agricultural activity.
Companies taking grapes for wine production say that despite the pandemic, they have not reduced the price for kilograms of grapes, while from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development say they cannot interfere with the price of grapes since the market is free.
Sylejman Daka owns a vineyards hectare, out of which 70 gold with wine grapes and 30 gold grapes of the table, which says the price of 26 cents does not even cover his expenses.
He points out that this year of grapes is of very good quality, and such quality, according to him, produces a good wine. Daka says this should be assessed by companies taking grapes for wine production.
The 26-center price paid in the past years, year and year, is a low price compared to the cost needed for the growing of grapes, the good quality grapes is 26 cents low. It would be better to be the price for a kilo to be at least 40 cents, or up to 50 cents, which would be more acceptable to increase normal, even the convenience of grape growers”, he tells the KP.
Price increases per kilogram of grapes also require the chairman of the Kosovo Shooting Association Habib Dina. He points out that the price of 26 cents is not real and that it harms farmers.
The price, to be honest, is not a real price, since within the last 10 years prices have suffered a very large decline, meaning a 100 per cent drop in prices. Varieties that have been priced at 50 cents now have 25 cents, variety that have been priced 30 cents now have 15 cents. We hope that this year the processor will be taken more seriously because it is in their best interests when they support us because we grow as farmers quality. It means prices are expected this year to rise”, he says.
