Berger has declared after the meeting that it is important that relations between two Kosovo and Serbia should return to normality as soon as possible.

“It was a pleasure to meet Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bistim with whom we talked about the Kosovo dialogue Serbia and excellent bilateral relations. The important thing now is for both sides to calm the situation and return to the negotiating table as soon as possible. Progress in the dialogue is in the interest of both states like Kosovo and Serbia”, Berger has written on Twitter.

The Bislim meeting comes just a day before he holds the meeting for dialogue with Serbia's chief negotiator, Petar Petkov. The meeting in Brussels between Kosovo and Serbian representatives comes after straining the situation in northern Kosovo following the establishment of reciprocity for Serb license plates on the part of Kosovo.

US, EU have said Kosovo and Serbia must calm tensions and find solution through EU-attensive dialogue
