Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani, along with Foreign Affairs Minister Donika Grovalla, have met NATO Secretary General Jens Stolenberg.
In the Presidency's announcement, it becomes known that Osman has declared Kosovo's fundamental goal remains fast-track NATO membership.
“President Osmani stressed that Kosovo's fundamental goal remains fast-track NATO membership. Membership is important to ensure peace in the region, but also for promoting and protecting our common values. During its meeting, President Osmani stressed Kosovo's commitment to opening a new chapter of co-operation with NATO, which implies Kosovo's involvement in the Partnership for Peace. Our goal is to become part of the global security infrastructure, contributing to peace”, the announcement said.
Furthermore, President Osmani has also mentioned the Kosovo Security Force, which he has declared is prepared with NATO standards and will enable Kosovo to become an active force under regional and global security.
“We are proud that our soldiers are participating together with US Armed Forces soldiers on a joint military mission in Kuwait. This mission, the first of its kind for Kosovo, is evidence of our readiness to contribute to global peace and security” is said to have declared Osmani.
Similarly, the presidency has indicated that Osmani has informed Secretary Stoltenberg of the latest developments in dialogue with Serbia, citing the Brussels agreement on freedom of movement.
