Daut Haradinaj promises implementation of the Law for Capital These will be the benefits for Pristina

With the law implemented for the capital, Pristina would benefit its security mechanism, establishing the Capital Police. This law was adopted in 2018 in the Kosovo Assembly, with the great insistence of former Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj at the time. However, although Pristina has regulated its judicial status as the capital, law violations have not been exploited overall by local governance.

Daut Haradinaj, the candidate for Pristina, is on the priority list of implementing this law if he becomes head of Pristina in the 17 October elections. Haradinaj, in his governing programme, has stressed that implementation of this law is essential.

What will the capital's citizens benefit from applying the Capital Law?

The law guarantees Pristina the Capital Police, so Haradinaj has said he will immediately take care to establish the capital's police, naming the Director General as well. Also, under the law, the capital will build its own mechanisms for local safety supervision.

The plan, based on the Capital Law, will be divided into the capital area, and according to Haradinaj's governing programme, there will be six areas.

The census will be made of active and real estate in the capital, as well as the correction of cadastral and property data. On the basis of these divisions, budget decentralisation will take place, given paid taxes, to return with concrete investments in the respective areas.
