The government has announced that on 29 September there will be no more obstacles to entering restaurants, theatres or stadiums, and the recommendation for home work development will be removed.
“Our society is in a new, better position. We are taking steps towards returning to normal daily life and freedom of society from restrictions,” said Swedish Health and Social Affairs Minister.
With most of the adults vaccinated, Sweden has taken another step in fighting pandemic. As infection has increased in recent weeks amid the rapid spread of Delta's most contagious variant, disease deaths remain low.
Sweden has repeatedly shown a different approach to treating pandemics, avoiding strong impasses and leaving issues such as social distance and hygiene to citizens.
“vaccinated people can in principle live normally after 29 September. The unexcused continue to be endangered by the disease, and it will be disturbing when daily life turns normal,” announced the head of the Public Health Agency.
Sweden currently uses the EU's digital certificate of travel, but does not apply specific rules for vaccinated and unexcused as many other European countries.
