These are the conditions of Afghans in Kosovo

Kosovo Imam Labinot Maliqi in an interview for Online Economics has spoken of the visit they have made on this camp.

He detailed what he saw there from the tents set up for these residents, highlighting very comfortable conditions and order to detail from sleeping to eating.

The U.S. Army is fixing within camps or tents inside Bondsteel, to accommodate Afghan refugees who will come and where there will be over 2 thousand refugees. I was honored to be part of a visit by seeing the hard work they did against these people, and that job was professionally done”.

I consider one of my most historic visits and enough emotional, because there were no details left that were not involved and to make it more comfortable for him to live and sleep in those camps. So there is no lack of sleep, food has also taken care of a particular aspect, since we know that most of them are of Islamic faith, and some tents are set up with the possibility of performing their religious rituals, and special care is also dedicated to food”.

In addition, Maliqi says this will affect the country's image as well and that already a part of Afghan residents have been settled, reports Online Economics.

A part of them have already been arranged, so being refugees is a feeling that we have experienced as a people, but unfortunately most of us have forgotten and not only the feeling of being refugees but also the wounds that we continue to have opened up to us by the Serbian occupier and everything that was caused us two decades ago. So the Afghan people, and especially those refugees we already have in our country, the Kosovo government has welcomed them, and this affects the country's image and, in terms of both the Balkan and international”, Maliqi said.

He even adds that such a situation should not be forgotten that our people had decades ago and that waiting and respect for them is needed.

The Afghan people should be treated no matter where they come from, what culture or what belief they have and what they deserve respect and help, and we know that most of them have fled for a better life like our people who have high hopes and look at every door to achieve their own goals”.

Maliqi is optimistic that the environment of Afghan citizens will be too fast.

I don't think it's going to take too long and that it's going to be very soon, and our job is to open this door and not be locked, because they too have passed a great test on their lives”, he concluded.

A total of 683 Afghan nationals who fled Afghanistan have been sheltered in Kosovo so far after the Taliban militants took over the state.

Interior Minister Jelal Svecla has said the Afghans' stance on Kosovo territory will be very temporary, saying it may be only a matter of weeks before they are sent to the US or any other NATO member country.
