The exercise was conducted by members of a special mobile unit, and the shells flew 800 miles [800 km] before they ended up at sea off the eastern coast of this country.
The new kind of launcher ensures greater mobility and protection of the missile system from possible counterattacks.
The latest test was aimed at controlling the mobile system and combat readiness, authorities in North Korea announced.
