(2 days ago)The Foundation Court in Prizren, the Department for Mitur, has appointed the detention measure for minors A.O., in length of a month, suspected of killing Albian Osmanaj in Kobiaj in Prizren.
Under the pre-procedure judge's decision, the detention measure could last until July 14th 2026.
The court has estimated that the State Prosecutor's request is based, stressing that detention is necessary for ensuring unhindered development of the procedure and presence of minors in the process.
“The Constitutional Court in Prizren, the Department of Security, Judge of the Prosecution, Conform of the Law Code of Justice for Metur, and the Code of Criminal Procedure, has appointed the measure of detention against minors A.O., in length of (1) a month, which can last until the 1407.2026, due to the criminal act of murder by Article 173 par. One under the front. 1.5, in terms of KP Article 31. The juvenile judge, after examining all the subject papers and listening to the parties' claims at the hearing of the security measure appointment, has come to the conclusion that the State Prosecutor's request for detention is based. The juvenile judge has concluded that the appointment of the detention measure at this stage is based on law, and reasonable, and will ensure the unhindered development of the course of the preparation procedure, and ensuring the presence of minors before justice institutions”, reportedly in the news released to the media.
Meanwhile, the court has indicated that the request for detention of two other persons suspected of connection to the case has also been accepted.
The trial in the afternoon hours of the 1506.26, also accepted the request for the detention measure of two (2) other defendants, St. O., because of the suspicion that the same was committed by the same criminal act “grave murder” in co-ordination from Article 173 par.1 below the front. 1.5 related to KPRK Article 31, as well as to suspect A. O., which is in a 48-hour ban, due to the suspicion that the same was done in the same offense at “heavy murder” by Article 173 par.1 below par. 1.5 related to Article 32 of the Republic of Kosovo Penal Code (KPRK)”
“This request will be addressed by the Department for the Joint Crimes, and the Pre-Procedure Judge, within the legal deadline, will set a hearing for the set-up of security measure”, the statement said.
