The court condemns former Minister Andrew Shala to two years in prison for “Conflict Interest”

The Foundation Court in Pristina has convicted former Trade and Industry Minister Andrew Shala of two years in prison for criminal work “conflicted interest”.
The indictment was announced Monday by the trial panel led by Judge Violet Namani-Hajra. According to the tribunal, elements of the criminal act “have not been fulfilled for use of the official task”, which Shala was originally charged with.
“Shala was found guilty and convicted of accust interest”, the court said, clarifying that the sentence will be executed after the indictment becomes of the formal form.
In addition to the prison sentence, Shala has been charged with paying 100 euros for the judiciary and 100 euros for the Crime Victims Compensation Fund.
The sides have a right to complaint within the 30-day legal deadline. Shala was not present during the proclamation of judgment.
