Analyst Jusuf Thaci has commented on recent developments in which he talked about the possibility of delaying local elections.
Thaci through a Facebook post has said municipal elections in Kosovo should not be postponed, but should be held in the previous constitutional/legal deadline.
“Can't be allowed to keep all municipal power (executive and legislative) in Kosovo without legitimacy. There is enough time until the day of municipal elections (17 October 2021) the pandemic situation in Kosovo to improve through adequate anti-Condavid measures, normally if political parties organise electoral campaigns in accordance with these measures (which must be done, if not by proper consciousness, then by legal obligation)”, Thaci wrote.
By contrast, President Osmani has invited political parties to the meeting on 13 September at 5: 00 p.m. to discuss the opinion and recommendation of the IKSHP and the Anti Force Task Force - CO VID for the impact the elections may have on the pandemic situation through which Kosovo is going through.
