A limited number of military leaders have been put on alert and employed if necessary to further stabilise the fuel supply chain”, the Energy Ministry said in a statement.
This decision comes after long lines that continued in many countries Monday, while army tanker leaders will receive specialised training ahead of any possible diversification.
“Burrat and women of our armed forces are ready to ease transport pressures,” said Defence Secretary Ben Wallace.
The increase in demand came amid fears that the absence of drivers would hit fuel supplies, which is abundant in the refinery, writes A2.
Transport Secretary Grant Shapps said: “We are seeing panic buying more fuel available in many gas stations”.
The United Kingdom is estimated to lack more than 100,000 truck drivers, causing problems for a variety of industries, including food suppliers and supermarkets, in recent months.
The government has blamed people for generating rows in many gas stations that buy fuel unnecessarily, and this has caused it to run out in some countries.
