Through a media report, the British Embassy has announced that around 2000 former NATO contractors and their families were evacuated from Afghanistan to total, where over 800 are located in temporary housing provided by the Government of Kosovo.
The United Kingdom's “Armed Forces under NATO command are located in Kosovo and are at the forefront of the operation to support their housing and shift. The UK is proud to play its role and is the first NATO member to provide further quick solutions. The UK has committed to displaceing some 150 Afghans associated with NATO”, the report said.
The British Embassy has thanked and said it is extremely grateful for Kosovo's generosity in waiting for these vulnerable people and for steps forward to support NATO at the time of need.
