Through a statement, Borrell's office has called for the avoidance of any possible provocation after tensions arose in northern Kosovo.

The European Union is calling for immediate reduction of tensions in northern Kosovo. Any provocation or unilateral action should be avoided because they would go directly against the interests of people in the region”, the announcement said.

Furthermore, it is stressed that Pristina and Belgrade must implement each obligation issued by the Brussels dialogue.

“We call on leaders in Belgrade and Pristina to take responsible positions and work through the EU facilitated dialogue for avoiding any further escalation, to restore a peaceful atmosphere and to work on a viable” solution, the report said.

Borell considers it in everyone's interest to seek a way forward that enables freedom of movement and improves the everyday lives of people.

“The EU and the Member States call on Kosovo and Serbia to respect and fully implement all their obligations stemming from the dialogue without any further delay”, Borrell has said.

Otherwise, to date Kosovo citizens with RKS (Republishment of Kosovo) license plates, when they entered Serbia, have paid about five euros for temporary plates, which are valid for 60 days.

Kurti has said on September 20th that official Pristina has not wanted to impose reciprocity measures, but has had no other solution, due to the official Belgrade stances.

Meanwhile, Vuciq has declared that Pristina refuses to implement the provisions of the Brussels Agreement, mainly those referring to the Association of Serb majority municipalities.

However, he has recently expressed readiness to speak with Prime Minister Kurti in case the ROSU unit leaves Jarinje and Brnjak.

We said, no problem, withdraw ROSU units and we'll talk. What actions did Serbia take? Did she send the army, the police? No. But it's not worth it when you start lying, then it's like that. This time, Serbia did nothing. A strong Serbia applies to all. They want Serbia to recognise them. I will not agree with what they want. I repeat, turn everything into what was before September 20th and then we can talk. Call NATO, call whoever you want, but you will not get Serbia's consent to get it”, the president added, stressing that their interest is that Kosovo is independent.
