US Secretary of State Antony Blinken vowed to help Israel expand relations with Kosovo and the states of the Arab world.
Blinken, while promoting support from the Binden Administration towards normalising Middle Eastern states' relations with Israel, also cited Kosovo as establishing diplomatic relations with the Israeli state, MEMO reports.
“Beden administration will continue to build on the recent administration's successful efforts to continue normalisation by moving forward and will seek to foster improved relations between Israel and Morocco, with Bahrain, with the United Arab Emirates, as well as Sudan, who also signed Abraham's agreements, as well as Kosovo, which established diplomatic relations with Israel at the beginning of<1>, he declared.
“We will encourage more countries to follow the example of the Emirates, Bahrain and Morocco,” said at a virtual ceremony with his counterparts from those countries and Israel. “We want to expand the circle of peaceful diplomacy because it is in the interest of countries throughout the region and around the world, so that Israel can be treated as any other country”.
Kosovo, alongside the US, has established the Embassy in Jerusalem of Israel in March this year, until diplomatic relations with the country was established in early 2021.
