Firemen reportedly put out the fire for less than an hour after starting about 21 Wednesday.
Macedonian Health Minister Venko Filipce warned that the number of victims could increase.
This is a very sad day. Doctors are fighting for the lives of the injured”, Filipce said, adding that some patients have been rushed to Skopje.
Prime Minister Zoran Zaev said the fire was caused by an explosion and that investigations have been opened for this case.
The hospital, which was involved in the fire, was a temporary center built last year for treating seriously ill coronavirus.
