He ate poisonous mushrooms in the forest, dies the five-year-old Afghan refugee

Doctors at Poland's leading children's hospital said on Thursday that a five-year-old Afghan boy, who was evacuated by Kabul, has died, while his six-year-old brother, who has undergone liver surgery, is in critical condition after the children ate poisonous mushrooms. Both brothers and sisters [...]

Both brothers and their sister were sent to the hospital last week. The family had gathered and eaten very poisonous mushrooms in the forest near a refugee camp near Warsaw, writes Independent.

Doctors at the Center for Children's Health in Warsaw said that the other boy has successfully passed operation on the liver but that the damage to the brain is considerable and puts him at risk for life.

Doctors also informed that children's parents are in hospital and are receiving psychological attention. Their 17-year-old sister has been released from the hospital and is in good condition. Several other family members were also hospitalized in other centres, but are already recovering.

Polish authorities evacuated this family from Afghanistan last month at the request of Great Britain after the Taliban took control of that country. My father had worked for the British.
