Even Anna Brnabyk reproves the EU: Little nothing they're doing about the Kosovo situation

Serbia's prime minister, Anna Brnabiq, said that the European Union, at this moment, “is doing nothing, or doing little, of the situation in Kosovo. “I have nothing good to say about bringing Europe, about bringing the EU. I think the Brussels Agreement is an EU issue. Signing [...]

I have nothing good to say about bringing Europe, about bringing the EU. I think the Brussels Agreement is an EU issue. Its signature is in the Brussels Agreement”, Brnabiq told Serbian television Pink.

Now eight days, Serbs in northern Kosovo have blocked the Jarinje and Brnjak border crossings, located in this area, as a sign of opposition to the Kosovo government's decision to impose reciprocity measures on Serbia's auto plates.

With the Government's decision, September 20th, all vehicles from Serbia entering Kosovo must be equipped with temporary license plates.

Kosovo Police Special Unit has been deployed at the border crossings.

Brnabic said the Brussels Agreement for Free Movement between Kosovo and Serbia “has clearly been violated in Kosovo”, because in the north “there should not be special police units”.

According to her, neither the Association of Serb majority municipalities in Kosovo has been formed, even though nine years have passed by the Brussels Agreement that envisions its formation.

Brnabic said the EU “not only tolerates the failure to implement the Brussels Agreement for nine years now, but silences its clear violation”.

Similar measures against Kosovo license plates, Serbia is implementing now many years.

The European Union and the United States have called for suspension of the situation.

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has said the two states must remove the use of temporary plates.
