In response, it is called for Serbia to withdraw armed forces sent near the border with Kosovo.
“We urge Serbia to withdraw the armed forces sent near the border with Kosovo and work for the immediate detension of the situation. We encourage all actors to refrain and be directed towards dialogue immediately, as the only way to move forward and resolve pending issues with the spirit of co-operation, to which Albania is engaged irreversibly, in its bilateral and multilateral efforts”.
Albania will do everything possible to support all efforts towards the immediate commitment of the situation and the return to dialogue.
“As an ally NATO and a responsible member of the United Nations, Albania will do everything necessary to support all efforts towards the immediate censorship of the situation and the return to dialogue”.
Full communication:
The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania is very concerned about the escalation of the situation in the north of the Republic of Kosovo and strongly condemns the vandals committed today, where some individuals set fire to vehicle registration offices in Zubin Potok and damaged a similar office in Zvecan. Nothing justifies the use of violence, damage to public property, and lack of respect for the law.
The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs calls for these vandals to be brought to justice.
Albania is particularly concerned about sending Serbian armed forces near the Kosovo border and military flying vehicles that fly near and above Kosovo airspace, which encourage individuals to provoke unrest and violence, as well as aimed at destabilising Kosovo. These acts conflict with international agreements aimed at ensuring order and stability in that part of the region.
We call on Serbia to withdraw the armed forces sent near the Kosovo border and work for the immediate detension of the situation. We encourage all actors to show restraint and be directed towards dialogue immediately, as the only way to move forward and resolve pending issues with the spirit of co-operation, to which Albania is engaged irrevocably, in its bilateral and multilateral efforts.
As an ally NATO and a responsible member of the United Nations, Albania will do everything necessary to support all efforts towards the immediate censorship of the situation and return to dialogue.
