From Pristina International Airport “Adem Jashari” on Thursday, some 117 Afghan nationals, who had been sheltered in Kosovo the previous day, receive news Radio Europe free of resources within the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The destination of the first group expected to leave is said to be Great Britain.
This outgoing group, so far, was sheltered at Bechtel-Enka Camp in Ferizaj. This camp was housed by citizens who worked with NATO forces in Afghanistan.
These Afghan citizens came to Kosovo because they were no longer safe in Afghanistan, when the country fell to the Taliban.
In Kosovo, until noon Monday, 971 Afghan refugees have arrived.
At the Bechtel-Eenka camp in Ferizaj were located about 810 refugees, while 161 in the American camp Bondsteel, as well as in Ferizaj.
Earlier, Kosovo authorities have indicated they will house about 2,000 Afghan nationals who have worked with the United States and with NATO member states.
Under the laws in effect, Kosovo has given them a temporary stay up to a year.
Unlike Albania and Northern Macedonia, where Afghans finding shelter there are free to move outside the spaces where they are located, for Afghans sheltering in Kosovo there are stricter security measures.
