In Kosovo so far, over 360,000 businesses have completed the fiscalisation process, while a large part of them continue to operate without respecting any tax regulations.
Fiscal evasion, each year and more, has caused serious financial damage to the state budget. On the other hand, during the first 8 months of 2021, over 600 businesses have been fined by ATK, and the value of fines totals up to 100,000 euros.
For economists, businesses in the country have no reason to reject fiscalisation, since Kosovo has adopted appropriate laws and guidelines for operators and that competition of companies offering fiscal products has actually made the price for such a device extremely favourable and affordable for each business.
The director of the Kosovo Chamber of Economics, Berat Rukiqi, in a written reply, has said that formal functioning is favourable for businesses, because in this way there are equal rules for everyone on the market.
Rukiqi has added that the fiscalisation process is extremely important, not only for the state, but for business itself, because being fiscalised, it increases partnership opportunities with other businesses in the country, but also for international operators.
Many businesses have already found ways to export for products they produce in Kosovo and have formed alliances with international operators. This would not be possible if these businesses were not taxed. It means, this process is beneficial for businesses themselves, much more so when the cost of fiscal equipment has now fallen and is very affordable for each business”, Rukiqi said, adding that the initial complaints about the price of fiscal crates already do not exist, since operators offering these products have now lowered prices.
According to economists, legal stability is another important element in the process of fiscalisation, since it takes time and expense for any eventary change to adapt, and this could prolong their daily work.
On the other hand, days ago it was said that over 16 thousand fines were given to businesses because they were not taxed or respected by these rules.
This data has been confirmed by the Kosovo Tax Administration itself. This institution, has been asked for further details in this process and through a written reply, has confirmed that during the first eight months of 2021, over 600 businesses have been fined by ATK and the value of fines totals up to 100,000 euros.
ATK supporters in the question that until the fiscalisation process has reached, they have given this response “Viewed from the perspective of principles and risk analysis, based on a detailed action plan (PV) and the Risk Treatment Plan (PTRR), which in itself included the most positive practices applied by modern administrations, including the segmentation of taxpayers according to activities, and has defined the risks of non-fulfillment, the Tax Administration has covered that segment of the subjects participating in the total with over 95% annual turn-in in Kosovo, or participating in about 90% of all incomes declared and paid off by the 48x>
