4.4m euros in expenditures for Hague indictees' lawyers

For 10 months they engaged in their defense.

The seven defendants detained in The Hague worked intensively within these months to challenge claims by the Specialised Prosecutor's Office.

Their work, however, was paid from the budget of the Republic of Kosovo.

From October last year until July, according to data provided on Television 7, the Ministry of Justice has paid 4 million and 416 thousand euros to these lawyers.

What was largely paid by this dictatorship is the defence attorney of the Kosovo Liberation Army spokesman.

Lawyer Rohini Alagedra was paid a total of 792 thousand euros in her legal representation of Jakup Krasniqi.

In February alone, 95 thousand euros were executed at her address by the Ministry of Justice.

While in months like March, April, May, June and July, it was paid 91,000 euros each for those months.

Following Jakup Krasniqi's lawyer, the second most paid is the defence lawyer of the former head of the War Veterans Organisation.

Hysni Gucati's lawyer, Jonathan Ree, cost Kosovo's budget approximately 730m euros.

The two months most paid to attorney Rees were Mars and April of this year, with 85 thousand euros each.

The third lawyer to have exceeded 700 thousand euros is Rexhep Selim's legal representative.

David Young was paid 724 thousand euros within nine months, since he did not figure out any payment to him in October last year.

In February, March, April lawyer Young was paid 82,000 euros, while in the months of May, June, July that amount amount rose to 91 thousand euros.

661 thousand euros was also paid to former Kosovo President Hashim Thaci's defence lawyer.

Payers for lawyer Pierre Prosper in the months of May, June, were paid from 90 thousand and 600 euros.

KLA's OVL deputy head Nasim Haradinaj is represented by two defence lawyers, one cost 33 thousand euros, and the other being lawyer Toby Cadman, 549 soos.

Even the lawyer of accused Salih Mustafa, who is also the first of the detainees to enter the trial, was paid 545 thousand euros for 10 months of commitment by the Ministry of Justice.

Kosovo's freest budget has cost the defence lawyer of the former Kosovo Assembly Speaker.

Kadri Wessel's defence lawyer has been paid about 380 thousand euros.

Pays for Ben Emmerson from October to January are not found, while for months like May, June, July has been paid 95 thousand euros.

Securing legal protection for all accused of acts that are in the jurisdiction of this court by the state of Kosovo is presented with the Law for Specialised Chambers of Kosovo. /T7
