According to DnV data, out of 167 candidates for mayors, only 13 are women or less than 8 percent. While, out of a total of 270 holders of political subjects' lists, women are entrusted with this position in only 34 cases.
“Democracy in Action reminds political subjects that women make up half of the country's population, so their bypass does not serve democratisation of parties and gender equality and offering equal opportunities for both genders”, it is said in their response.
