CEC spokesman Valmir Elezi has indicated that today is the deadline when voters from abroad can apply for registration.

So far we have accepted about 9,000 and 600 census applications outside Kosovo. The deadline for this period ends on August 18th”.

“After this date, we will have a detailed report from the voting service how many of these applicants have successfully registered as voters outside Kosovo, as they have not met the” legal criteria, it has indicated.

Elez has also said that after successful registration all voters could conduct this process through mail from September 15th.

“All applicants who manage to register as voters outside Kosovo will be able to vote via mail in a later phase, which begins on September 15th. The ballots should be accepted by the CEC the most remote until October 15th”.

“Based on the election rule for voting abroad, it is up to the CEC to compile the voter list outside Kosovo. This list should contain the data of those voters who are successfully registered for voting outside Kosovo and remove their names from the voter list distributed in the polling list, on Election Day”, it has ended for EO.

Elections for mayors and the municipal assembly are held on October 17th.
