Von der Leenen: EU has not recognised the Taliban

After taking over the country under Taliban, Von der Leeyen says the European Union does not recognise them.

Among other things, the EC president stressed that they are not negotiating with the militant group.

She made these statements at a media conference, following her visit to a host centre in Madrid to Afghan EU organ workers evacuated by Kabul.

Ursula Von der Leyen promised funds for EU countries that would receive Afghan refugees.

It will require increased humanitarian aid for Afghanistan this year.
