An American official told Reuters news agency that the rockets were launched at the airport, but were stopped by the missile defence system. It is not clear whether all the missiles have been destroyed, as local residents reported [...] the fall.

The AP quoted witnesses as saying the missiles hit Salim Karvan neighbourhood near the airport and that the blasts were followed by gunfire.
At that, US intelligence officials said they have received further threats “specificity” and reliable “ ” against Kabul airport and that the army will continue to conduct targeted attacks where necessary. With the U.S. advised people to stay away from the area, although time for anyone still trying to get on evacuation flights is running out.
